About Me

WendiHi there! I'm Wendi Flybutter, owner of Revival Sugar & Wax. I've lived in Albuquerque for ten years, where I earned my Aesthetician license from Aveda. I've worked with the GCAP, providing health and beauty services for women undergoing cancer treatment in New Mexico, as well as serving on the board of the New Mexico New Makers, who host the ABQ Maker Faire. Before moving to the southwest and diving into health and beauty services, I spent my time painting backdrops for rock concerts and working in graphic design and web development. I'm certified in the following specialties: Sugaring, Oncology Facials, facial Osteopathic, Peels, Dermaplaning, Bellanina/Facelift Massage using acupressure and Thai massage. I love making my own skincare products, traveling, and my cat, Sanjay. I look forward to meeting you!

Sugar Wax Hair Removal

Revival specializes in sugar waxing, the ancient technique of removing body hair with caramel made from sugar. Sugar Wax hair removal is gentle on the skin, yet it removes deep hair follicles, leaving you with smooth skin for a lasting result. Since the skin recovers faster than other hair-removal methods, Sugar Wax is ideal for bikini, face and sensitive skin. New hair growth will come back softer and thinner. Made with just sugar, water, and lemon juice, you can be confident it’s chemical-free.

This ancient technique of removing body hair with caramelized sugar has been around since 1900BC and has many names throughout many different cultures. Names include Persian waxing in Perisa, Sukkar or Halawa in the Middle East, Agda in Turkey, and Moum in Iran. Originally it is believed sugar wax was made with honey and oil, which makes sense since sugar cane trade 4000 years ago would have made sugar a luxury item and not a cost effective method, similar to the same reasons we do not use honey in the sugar wax today.

The sugar wax we use is made locally here in Albuquerque. With no additives or preservatives, it’s in its purest form. It’s hypoallergenic and biodegradable, a product we feel good about using on our skin and for the environment.

Skin Care

I love giving facials. Skin is our largest organ, I believe it should be treated with wholesome products that will aid in good cell health and development. This is why I chose to work with skin care product companies who care about the client and the ingredients they use. Check out their websites Sanitas out of Boulder, Colorado and Ilike out of Hungary. Home care products can be ordered here at Revival Sugar Wax & Skin Care just call or send me an email of what you would like to order.
